Rosemary Lucas at the Age of Elegance 1890–1930

Rosemary is one of seven designers selected to show pieces inspired by this portrait of Lady Lavery at The Age of Elegance 1890 - 1930 at the Guildhall Art Gallery, London from February 11th to May 28th 2012. She and textile artists Darrieulat & Young have created a new collection of accessories in rose and grey to echo the languid, almost mysterious mood of the portrait and Lady Lavery's reputation as a 'beautiful nuisance'! Rosemary's jewellery is a variation on her signature theme of silver marquise and teardrop elements strung in long drops with gorgeous rose quartz ballotines, with moonstone, pearl and labradorite detail. The work is featured in a special display of the portrait with responses by contemporary artists and designers.
The exhibition is a delightful selection of works from the Guildhall Art Gallery permanent collection with several paintings on display for the first time in many years. Already billed as a Must-See event in Time Out and Metro
Join the Curator's Tour on Wednesday 7th March and April 11th from 12.30 - 1.15pm with the exhibition Curator Sonia Solicari.
