In the year of the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympic Games, London: a celebration will be a dazzling showcase for 30 selected makers whose work is inspired by London.

Rosemary Lucas is working on a new collection including variations on her signature hand-pierced silver River Cuffs with their deco-style take on the sinuous curves of the River Thames as it flows through the heart of the city, past the Isle of Dogs and beyond towards the sea.

And her River Drops collection is redolent of swirling grey-blue river water, with flashes of labradorite, kyanite and web mudstone and handmade silver teardrops in a range of new pendants, earrings and necklaces.

The work is featured in a special display of the portrait with responses by contemporary artists and designers.

The exhibition is a delightful selection of works from the Guildhall Art Gallery permanent collection with several paintings on display for the first time in many years. Already billed as a Must-See event in Time Out and Metro
