SARAH BLAKE

A designer and maker working from a small studio in Epsom, Surrey, Sarah handmakes one off pieces, or small batches, of original silver jewellery.
Using recycled sterling silver, Sarah hand-textures the metal, working with various tools and techniques, including etching, to produce interesting and detailed surfaces and patterns. Inspiration is taken from both natural and urban landscapes; rusted metal, peeling paint, lichen, rocks and rockpools are a constant source of ideas. Semi-precious stones give a pop of colour, but Sarah is drawn to freeform shapes, and stones with inclusions, which show something of the stone’s history, rather than so called ‘perfect’ stones.
